Overview

The University offers two full-time Higher Diploma in Nursing Studies programmes via direct application. Applicants can apply directly to the University.  

Applicants who wish to be considered for Sub-degree Programmes places under the ‘Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions/Sectors’should select the programme code HDNMF1 (Mental Health Care).

Applicants who wish to be considered for places subsidised by Social Welfare Department (SWD) should select programme code HDNGOSF1 (General Health Care).

The application periods for places subsidised by SWD and SSSDP are varied, please refer to Important Dates.

Subsidies under SSSDP or by other government departments are only applicable to local students.

The application for SWD subsidised places has ended on 4 Mar 2024, at 5pm. Any applications to this programmes submitted outside the mentioned period will NOT be entertained. Applicants for the programme must be permanent Hong Kong residents with the right of abode in Hong Kong and have attained the age of 18 by the time the training programme commences.

          Academic Qualifications

            GCE (A-level/AS-level)

            2 A-level / 1 A-level + 2 AS-level subjects: Grade E or above

            The following qualifications are considered equivalent to the Chinese Language and Culture requirement:

            English Language and Chinese Language subjects shall normally not be counted as the subjects for meeting the requirement

            &

            English Language will be counted as the subject for meeting the
            requirement in the case of applying for admission to:

            Bachelor of English Language Studies with Honours (BLSEHJ1)

            or

            Bachelor of Education with Honours in English Language Teaching

            or

            Bachelor of English Language Studies with Honours (BEDELSEHJ1)

            Academic Qualifications

            Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination

            – Chinese Language: Level 2 or above

            – English Language: Level 2 or above

            – Mathematics (Compulsory Part): Level 2 or above and

            – Any TWO subjects in Categories A* or B^: Level 2 / Attained or above

             

            * ‘Attained’ in Citizenship and Social Development would also be accepted

            ^  Excluded Applied Learning Chinese

            or

            Holders of a Pre-Associate Degree

            or

            Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination (HKALE) / Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE)

            – Having attained the age of 18 or above by the time the Programme commences

            – Hong Kong permanent residents with the right of abode in Hong Kong

            Note:

            The composite tuition/programme fees listed above have included laboratory/practicum/immersion course fees, etc., if applicable.

            There will be an annual adjustment of tuition fees which will be capped at the actual Composite Consumer Price Index (CCPI) to be announced by the Government. The estimated composite tuition/programme fees for the whole programme has not yet taken the CCPI for the second year, i.e. 2023/24 academic year, into account.

            For HDNGOSF1 only

            HDNGOSF1 is funded by the Social Welfare Department (SWD). 

            Upon fulfillment of SWD’s reimbursement requirements, SWD will reimburse the corresponding subsidy amount to students via HKMU.

            Students, who fulfilled the stipulated requirements set by the Education Bureau (EDB), are eligible for the above subsidy provided by the Government. For details of the scheme and eligibility, please visit the website:

            A student’s eligibility for the above subsidy and the annual subsidy amount allocated in an academic year is subject to EDB’s final approval.

            Only local students are eligible for the above subsidies.

            Interview is not required for this programme.
