Introduction

The Bachelor of Sports and Recreation Management with Honours aims to provide high-quality education and training focusing on the theoretical knowledge and practical skills in business applicable to the context of sports and recreation. By combining business and sports and recreation, and offering a comprehensive work-based learning project, the programme develops graduates into professionals who are able to integrate knowledge, skills, and experience acquired from the management and sports sciences and from the practical world, and apply these to organizations in the sports and recreation industry as well as other sectors and industries.

Career Prospects

Graduates can seek employment in the both athletic management and sports and recreation management. They can find job opportunities in a wide range of organisations, including national sports associations, non-government organisations, government departments related to the management of leisure and recreation facilities, etc. They can also venture into careers related to event management, social media and marketing management, and more.

Further Studies

Opportunities are available for the graduates of this programme to pursue postgraduate studies in Hong Kong and abroad. Students may continue to study for a Master of Business Administration or other master’s degrees in business- or sport-related areas.

Being able to work effectively with foreigners and foreign organisations has become a very important contributor to career success in the internationalised economy. The Undergraduate Global Immersion Programme (UG-GIP) is designed to support B&A students in developing their potential in the internationalised environment. UG-GIP aims to instill in students a deeper understanding of a foreign culture and its society and environment, and expose students to a broader overview and understanding of international business.

For senior year entry students, UG-GIP comprises two non-credit bearing courses: BUS B083F (Year 3)*, and BUS B084F (Year 4). These courses are designed to enhance students’ intercultural awareness and communication skills and help students to develop a global mindset. Details can be found here.

*BUS B083F includes a study tour. Students are responsible for incidental expenses such as airfare and accommodation.
