Introduction

This is a double-degree programme aiming to foster a group of bilingual business graduates who possess a high level of English and Chinese proficiency and comprehensive knowledge of business for the pursuit of a career in international enterprises and organisations. The importance of good language and communication skills cannot be underestimated in the global business environment in which being able to reach out to other nations is essential. Courses in the programme are designed to equip students with concepts and technical know-how to write and speak English and Chinese proficiently in the business context.

Graduate in 4 years taking 2 summer terms in Year 2 and 3.

Gaining working experience and valuable credential at school through the unique internship-cum-teaching practice arrangement lasting for one full semester in Year 3.

Participate in a self-financed overseas immersion and credit-bearing program in leading UK universities (e.g. Warwick) with scholarship and bursary plentifully available.

Graduates can seek employment in various organisations as entry level professionals and managers. Having a well-developed ability to use English and Chinese and to critically analyse language use will give graduates a competitive edge in a variety of career pathways, including administration, publishing, the media and teaching.

Further Studies

Many opportunities are available for graduates of the programme to undertake postgraduate studies in Hong Kong and overseas. Some students will continue to study for a Master of Business Administration (MBA) or other master’s degrees in business-related areas such as accounting, human resource management and corporate governance. Graduates will also have a chance to further their studies by doing course work (MA) or research work (MPhil) in language-related areas such as linguistics, applied linguistics and translation.

During the four years of study, students will need to complete 200 credits of courses, comprising the following components:

Description	The IP course is an overseas 5-credit bearing course which enables students to gain insights into pragmatics with a particular focus on intercultural aspects.

English Language and Culture Immersion Programme (Warwick Immersion Programme)

Description	Warwick Immersion Programme is a stimulating and enjoyable programme, Participants stay in homestays, attend seminars and workshops, and pay visits to famous sites such as the birthplace of Shakespeare

Duration	2 weeks in early July

Description	The 2-week pprogramme aims at giving students a taste of Japanese culture, education system and Japanese university life. It includes lectures, field trips and homestay at rural areas.
