for JUPAS Freshmen

Registration Period for JUPAS applicants who have received a Main Round offer

Welcome to Hong Kong Metropolitan University!

(With the HKSAR Legislative Council’s approval, The Open University of Hong Kong will be renamed as Hong Kong Metropolitan University effective from 1 September 2021.)

All new students who have accepted our offer of admission via JUPAS and paid the acceptance fee of HK$5,000 to JUPAS Office this year should have received an email from HKMU on 12 August 2024 (Monday) regarding the registration procedures for full-time Undergraduate Programme – (2024/25).

You should complete the registration procedures by the stipulated deadline. Otherwise, you will be deemed to have declined your offer of admission at HKMU.

Registration Procedures
(Registration Period: 12 – 17 August 2024)

Step 1: Log in the online registration system

Input “Email Address” and “Password” (see the subsequent points regarding the information about email address and pre-assigned password) to login the system.
Email Address = your email address registered at JUPAS.
Password = Jp + the first 4 digits of your HKID card + your birth month in 2-digit format (e.g. HKID No.: A123456(7) and birth month: Feb, password would be Jp123402).
Tips: You may open the online registration system link in a new browser window. This will allow you to be able to follow the steps while working on the online registration system side by side.

Step 2: Verify your personal information

Click “My Application” to check if your personal information is correct.
Please follow the instructions, i.e. email us / log in MyHKMU, if any update of personal information is required.

Step 3: Upload your identity document

Click “Supporting Document” to upload your HKID card (valid entry permit, and landing slip(s) as well, if you do not hold a HK permanent ID card).

Step 4: Download and read the offer letter and enclosures carefully

Click “Application Status”, and then click “View Offer Package” to download the offer letter and enclosures.
Read them carefully.

Step 5: Confirm your acceptance of the offer

Read the General Regulations for Undergraduate Programmes.
Click “Accept Offer“ to confirm your acceptance of offer.

Step 6: Settle the Remaining Balance of Tuition fees for the 2024 Autumn Term

Read the “Important Notes on Payment of Tuition Fees for Applicants” in the letter enclosure.
The acceptance fee of HK$5,000 you paid through JUPAS Office:
- Forms part of your first tuition fee instalment for the 2024/25 academic year (i.e. 2024 Autumn Term).
- If the tuition fees of the 2024 Autumn Term is lower than the fees paid, you will not need to settle any balance of tuition fees. The University will refund the fee difference to you (if applicable) after the add/drop period.
- Make sure you have confirmed your acceptance of the offer in step 5.

Click “Pay Here“ to settle the balance payment by:
- 17 August 2024 (Saturday)

Important note:

Students who fail to settle the balance of tuition fees by the stipulated deadline shall be deemed to have declined their JUPAS offers. Please note that whether you register at HKMU or not, you will not be considered for admission to any other JUPAS programmes in the same academic year.

If you are admitted to a self-financing programme, you are invited to apply for the NMTSS, which covers all HKMU self-financing programmes:

NMTSS subsidy amount has been provisionally deducted from your first tuition fee instalment for the 2024 Autumn Term based on the assumption that you will apply for NMTSS and that your application will be approved.
Read carefully the “Important notes on application for Non-means-tested Subsidy Scheme for Self-financing Undergraduate Studies (NMTSS)” in the letter enclosure and submit an application via “Apply NMTSS” in “Application Status” page by 23 August 2024.
Please refer to the Instruction Kit for more details regarding the NMTSS application.
Only local students are eligible for subsidy under NMTSS.

If you are admitted to a SSSDP programme:

The subsidy amount has already been deducted from your first tuition fee instalment for the 2024 Autumn Term. You are required to submit a Declaration Form to acknowledge your receipt of the SSSDP subsidy by 17 August 2024.
Please click “Submit” button under “SSSDP Declaration Form“ column to submit your SSSDP Declaration Form
Please refer to the Instruction Kit for more details regarding the SSSDP Declaration Form.
Only local students are eligible for subsidy under SSSDP.
