Completion of Canadian High School Diploma
• Grade E or above in 2 A-level/1 A-level + 2 AS-level subjects
➥ English Language and Chinese Language subjects shall normally not be counted as the subjects for meeting requirement.
➥ English Language will be counted as the subject for meeting the requirement in the case of applying for admission to the Bachelor of English Language Studies with Honours (BLSEHJ1) / Bachelor of Education with Honours in English Language Teaching and Bachelor of English Language Studies with Honours (BEDELSEHJ1) programme.
➥ The same subject will not be counted at both AS and AL level.
• Level 3 or above in Chinese Language#;
• Level 3 or above in English Language;
• Level 2 or above in Mathematics (Compulsory Part);
• Attained in Citizenship and Social Development^; and
• Level 2 or above in any TWO elective subjects*.
^Applicants with previous HKDSE subject result of ‘Liberal Studies (Level 2 or above)’ can be used as the alternative of the core subject requirement of ‘Citizenship and Social Development’.
*The elective subject requirements are as follows:
➥ Level 2 or above in Category A elective subjects, which may include Mathematics Extended Part (Module 1 or 2). If applicants have taken both Module 1 and Module 2, only the module with best result will be taken into consideration; or
➥ ‘Attained’ or above in Category B subjects (excluding Applied Learning Chinese); or
➥ Grade E or above in Category C subjects.
#Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) applicants who have met the specified circumstances as announced by the Education Bureau (EDB) can replace HKDSE Chinese Language Level 3 with Alternative Qualifications in Chinese language (ACL) by achieving:
➥ ‘Attained’ or above in HKDSE Category B (Applied Learning Chinese); or
➥ Grade E or above in GCE (A-level/AS-level/O-level) Chinese; or
➥ Grade E/Grade 3 or above in GCSE/IGCSE Chinese.

The University accepts combined results of HKDSE examinations. The best results will be counted for meeting the entrance requirements and calculating admissions scores.
Note: Local applicants who only have HKDSE Examination results should apply through JUPAS.
• Grade E or above in Chinese Language and Culture (AS-level)~;
• Grade E or above in Use of English (AS-level); and
• Grade E or above in 2 A-level/ 1 A-level + 2 AS-level/4 AS-level subjects.

• For example, admission requirements for Malaysian students will be as follows:
➥ Grade C or above in at least 3 subjects in Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) in the same sitting, other than language subjects; or
➥ Grade C or above in at least 6 subjects at Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) Senior Middle Level; or
➥ Other equivalent overseas qualifications as determined by the University
• Completion of Year 1 study of a locally recognized Associate Degree or Higher Diploma; or
• Other local qualifications as determined by the University
• Completion of Higher Diploma (HD) or Associate Degree (AD) (or equivalent)
➥ If the HD and AD qualifications (or equivalent) are not awarded by recognized local institutions or an overseas institution where the medium of instruction was English, applicants may be required to meet ONE of the English language requirements.
➥ The programme duration is typically two to three years. Applicants will be considered for admission to different years of the study programme based on individual academic merits and other relevant factors.
➥ Applicants may be required to complete a bridging programme which consists of selected foundation and/or middle level course(s) and/or a Summer Programme (Only applicable to applicants who applied for B&A programmes). The Summer Programme will be held from June to August. Additional fees will be involved for students who are required to take a bridging programme.
