Introduction

Construction industry is one of the pillars for Hong Kong economy. Building services engineers play important role in fostering healthy and comfortable environment, combating global warming and promoting green economy. To cope with the changing role of building services engineers in the society, Hong Kong Metropolitan University is offering a 4-year full time face-to-face degree programme BEng (Hons) in Building Services Engineering and Sustainable Development. The aim of the programme is to provide students with analytical, technical, theoretical and practical knowledge in building services engineering.

This programme is accredited by The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE).

Career Prospects

Graduates will acquire a broad knowledge of the concepts, techniques, and tools in building services and sustainable development. Graduates will find career opportunities in a broad range of consultancy, building services contractors and government institutions. Typical positions include consultant, building services engineer, project engineer etc.

Further Studies

Graduates will be qualified for further study in project management, building services engineering, environmental engineering and energy engineering, or related areas in any tertiary institutions in Hong Kong and elsewhere. The available postgraduate programmes include but not limited to MSc in Intelligent Building Technology and Management, MSc in Energy and Environmental Engineering, MSc in Environmental Management and Engineering, MSc in Building Service Engineering, and MSc in Energy Engineering.
