Introduction

The aim of the programme is to provide students with analytical, technical, theoretical and practical knowledge in food testing science. The programme focuses on the application of Chemistry and Biology, offers practicum training and industrial placement to students and equips them to play a key role in the food manufacture and testing industry. Career Prospects

Graduates will find career opportunities in a broad range of food testing and certification industries, including food chemist or specialist, analytical technologist, food merchandiser, safety or quality assurance technologist on food manufacturing and research & development officer. Besides technical positions, graduates can also participate in the safety audit and management on the food and health care industries.

Further Studies

Graduates would be qualified for further study in testing science, applied sciences, or related areas in any tertiary institutions in Hong Kong and elsewhere. The available postgraduate programmes include but not limited to MSc in Food Industry: Management and Marketing, MSc in Food Safety Management, MSc in Nutrition, Food Science and Technology, and MSc in Food Analysis and Food Safety Management.
