Introduction

The aims of the programme are to provide students with analytical, technical, theoretical and practical knowledge in aspects of food testing science; and equip them to play a key role in the food manufacturing and testing industry. Core courses include

Career Prospects

Graduates will find career opportunities in a broad range of food testing and certification industries, including food chemist or specialist, analytical technologist, food merchandiser, safety or quality assurance technologist on food manufacturing and research & development officer. Besides technical positions, graduates can also participate in the safety audit and management on the food and health care areas.

Further Studies

Graduates would be qualified for further study in testing science, applied sciences, or related areas in any tertiary institutions in Hong Kong and elsewhere. The available postgraduate programmes include but not limited to MSc in Food Industry: Management and Marketing, MSc in Food Safety Management, MSc in Nutrition, Food Science and Technology, and MSc in Food Analysis and Food Safety Management.
