Introduction

The Bachelor of Social Sciences with Honours in Psychology (BSSoc (Hons) in Psychology) programme is a degree programme offered by the School of Arts and Social Sciences (A&SS). The programme aims to equip students with an in-depth knowledge in exploring human behaviour and experience in Psychology and applying the psychological knowledge in daily lives. Upon successful completion of the programme, students should be able to understand the self and others with a psychological perspective.

Through this degree programme, we strive to nurture students to become leaders in their chosen career paths in psychology. By exposing our students to high-quality research and seminars taught by credible teaching staff throughout the programme, they will get the opportunity to experience the various fields of psychology during their time in the HKMU. Moreover, earning a psychology degree from the HKMU will grant graduates access to a multitude of opportunities in the field.

Career Prospects

Graduates can pursue a career in the private and public sectors, as well as the non-government organisations in psychology-related positions, such as consultants, educators, project officers, etc. Graduates can also pursue postgraduate studies in different specialties of Psychology.

During the four years of study, students will need to complete 160 credits of courses, comprising 20 credits of General Education; 10 credits of English; 10 credits of basic social research methods; 20 credits of foundation level social sciences courses and 100 credits of required and elective major courses.
